research is critical to the development needs of the country.
Research funds come from a variety of sources.
Research Publications ABU is exploring different ways to dessiminate the variety of research taking place at the

As the oldest and premier public university in Nigeria, Ahmadu Bello University partners with the Government of Nigeria, mainly
through the line Ministries and other autonomous/semi-autonomous agencies. ABU is the leading trainer of Human
Resources for the Government of Nigeria as evidenced by the large number of her Alumni, serving in the Judiciary,
Legislature and Cabinet arms of government
Ahmadu Bello University has developed a focused research agenda that is multi-disciplinarity and draws on the University's
vast expertise. Research proposals that focus on a specific problem that may cut across several disciplines are given
priority in funding. On the basis of the National Government plan known as Poverty Eradication Action Plan (PEAP), the
University selected 6 themes and 5 cross cutting areas that make up the University's Research Agenda. the Research Agenda
themes are as follows:
A variety of research projects are taking place across the University. In the following section, we highlight some of them.
NITDA support of Capacity Building for Research Ahmadu Bello University with support from NITDA has undertaken
several research projects in the Faculties of Social Sciences, Agriculture, Medicine and Technology.
